Chiara and Stefano are two people driven by passion and love for dogs in general and Border Collies in particular, with over 25 years of experience in the dog world. Our adventure with Border Collies began in 1998 with Sibilla, our first Border: with her came the love and passion for this magnificent breed. Then came Happy in 2006 and Sherlock in 2012, and it was with him that we wanted to start the Border Collie breeding adventure. In 2022, we finally founded our Over the Wild Borders, driven by the desire to preserve and maintain this magnificent breed through breeding, just as we know and love it, in a tailored environment for our Border Collies. Our priority is to make our dogs happy and give them a life full of attention and adventures (hence the name of our kennel). The first step towards ethical and sustainable breeding is having healthy, loved, and balanced dogs that lead a fulfilling life rich in stimuli and experiences that they can then pass on to future generations. With ENCI and FCI kennel recognition, our goal is to continue breeding and selecting this magnificent breed while preserving its morphological characteristics and health. Future Border Collie owners will be able to welcome healthy and balanced puppies, ready to bring joy, vivacity, and why not, even a bit of chaos into the lives of those who welcome them, aware of the love and joy these extraordinary four-legged companions can offer. Whether for family or dog sport enthusiasts, we breed and raise dogs that meet breed standards. We work rigorously to prevent genetic/hereditary diseases through specific medical/health examinations to guarantee the longest and healthiest possible life for your puppy. Discover our Great Border-Family and come visit us to meet our beloved Border Collies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it true that the Border Collie is the most intelligent dog?
The Border Collie is an extremely intelligent breed insofar as intelligence means the ability to learn and the speed of learning what is taught, combined with a strong predisposition for collaboration with the owner.
Is it true that the Border Collie is a nervous, hyperactive dog that poorly adapts to family life?
Absolutely not. If well selected and properly educated, socialized, and managed, the Border Collie is a dog that can live peacefully and happily in a family as long as you have time to dedicate to adequate physical activity and mental stimulation.
Is the Border Collie suitable for everyone?
The Border Collie is an extraordinary life companion but unfortunately isn't suitable for everyone. It is definitely not suitable for sedentary people who lead an inactive lifestyle.
Is it true that in the Border Collie breed the female is definitely calmer?
No. Character difference is an individual factor not linked to belonging to one sex or the other. It's true that females remain slightly smaller and have less voluminous fur, but regarding character, each individual has their own peculiarities regardless of their distinguishing sex.
Is it true that the Border Collie lives better outside than inside?
The Border Collie is a rustic dog that certainly doesn't fear bad weather as it was selected to perform hard work in harsh weather conditions, but this doesn't mean it lives better outdoors. It's a dog that loves contact with people and its family, therefore, if made to live exclusively outside, it suffers from social isolation from its pack-family.
Is it true that if I get a Border Collie, I must make it work with sheep?
The Border Collie was selected as a herding dog but this doesn't mean that today it must necessarily work with sheep. There are many dog sports activities that you can try with your Border Collie that can make you have fun together and that can gratify them if sheepdog work isn't the most suitable activity for us.
